I Found Someone….in Vegas


Okay, so I’ve been dating my (gulp) now, Fiance, for going on a little over 3 years. Well, now we’re engaged; it’s going to be a long engagement. I am not in any rush to be married; I’m only 21. Anyway, he proposed to me in my favorite place….LAS VEGAS! I love that sparkling city! We went there a year ago, where he gave me my promise, we got engaged there ( I called my mother and she thought we’d been married at an Elvis chapel, which I told her would never happen. Now, if there was a Cher chapel it’d be a different story).

It was great. We got a limo, champagne, roses, VIP to Crazy Girls/comdey show, and then a KISS montage on the biggest screen in the world. It was great and beautiful. But I must say, this was my third time in Vegas, and I have nver before seen so many people with the same plastic surgery! What I mean is, everyone looked the same! They had the same noses, same lips, and same shiny texture to their faces! WOW.

We ate at P.F. Changs, Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock, and some pizza/gelato places; it was all very entertaining and exciting, I am however, still disappointed that I haven’t seen Peep Show and Thunder Down Under..heheheheee…Oh, and this time there were impersonators of Elvis, Micheal Jackson, Mario and Luigi, Allen (The Hang Over), Iron Man, and Marilyn Monroe.

Little, All Over Body Tips!

Use it to: Slough dry skin off heels, knees, and elbows
Why it works: The fruit acid loosens dead skin cells.
How-to: Cut a fresh orange in half and squeeze the juice of one half into a bowl. Add 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1/4 cup olive oil and then blend into a moisture-rich scrub. Next, rub the exposed side of the other half of the orange over knees, elbows, heels, and any other dry spots. Last, rub in the sugar mixture to slough off dead skin. Rinse with warm water and pat skin dry.

Use it to exfoliate hands and feet
Why it works: Rich in oil, walnuts make for extra-gentle sloughing.
How-to: Perillo likes to blend 1/4 cup shelled walnuts, 1/2 cup olive oil (for extra emollients), and a tablespoon of honey (to seal moisture into your skin) in a food processor set on a slow speed, creating a fine-particle scrub. Standing in the shower (if you’re scrubbing your feet) or over a sink (if it’s for your hands), work the mixture thoroughly over your skin for a couple of minutes. Rinse with warm water
Use it to soothe and soften dry, sensitive skin
Why it works: The lactic acid in milk serves as a gentle skin exfoliant, while its natural fat content acts as a body moisturizer.
How-to: Add 1 gallon of whole milk to a tubful of warm water and soak. It’s a great alternative to sugar and salt scrubs, says Perillo, which may be too abrasive for people who suffer from eczema, psoriasis, or sensitive skin. If you prefer a fragranced bath, add 10 to 20 drops of an essential oil such as lavender.


Use it to add strength to damaged, weakened hair
Why it works: Eggs’ high protein content helps improve hair’s resilience and luster.
How-to: Philip B. suggests whisking together 1 egg, 2 tablespoons coconut oil (“rich in moisturizing fats,” he says), and 2 tablespoons sesame oil. Apply the mixture to dry hair and wrap a hot, moist tow��el around your head. Relax for 5 to 10 minutes. Without wetting hair first, work in a handful of shampoo, and then rinse and condition your hair.


Sour Cream
Apply sour cream and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then wash it off. It’s full of Alpha Hydroxy Acid that helps slough off dead skin cells.It also bleaches out freckles and brown spots over time.

Fell off My Bandwagon



So, I went to Vegas a couple of weeks ago, and since then I haven’t been exercising or running like I was during the summer. I’ve started school again (my last year as an Undergraduate in college! yay-bachelor’s of Psychology almost here, then on to Masters and Ph.D), and I’ve just gotten so off track. I went to Vegas August 16 and stayed for a 5 days. Let’s just say my relapse started about 3 days before I left. Anyhow,all I know is since then I have been bingeing and purging almost every single day, sometimes up to 3 times a day. I’ve also been restricting and basically eating nothing at all, except for pixie sticks. I know this is all because I stopped working out/running daily; I’ve just become too busy lately. I did run twice, but that was last week and on an empty stomach. I’ve lost 4 pounds and it was pure muscle.

 I am promisng myself I am going back to being healthy and no more B & P; currently, I am sick because of stress (from school). I’m pretty sure not eating, and then throwing  up what you do eat, isn’t helping. I am promising to start my workout and healthy eating ASAP, as in tomorrow. I know my body is precious, as is my mind therefore, I must nourish both! And! how can I run and start a NEDA walk-a-thon in my hometown if I’m doing this craziness to my body??  SO, I vow to stop tomorrow!

Okay, I feel much better now 🙂

I went jet skiing and intertubing out on the Louisiana Bayou this past week, and my naturally curly hair was a tangled mess! After I applied the deep conditioner and let it soak for 2 minutes, I could literally comb my hair with my fingers.


Their Natural Acne Solutions is my favorite. I use that and proactive. I switch every other day. Their face cleansers leave your face with a fresh,natural feel and smell! The lip balms and lip glosses are great! They’re smooth,not sticky, and refreshing!

It Starts in the A.M.



For me, the direction of my day pretty much follows the morning. So, I try to start my mornings fresh, new, positive and sometimes a little exciting! Today was new start for me. I’m sad to say that for the past week I fell off my health wagon and felt like complete crap and relapsed twice. But, today is a day of new beginnings. I will not let one week ruin the rest of my life!

So this morning, I ate a hearty breakfast of 2 boiled eggs (140 cals,  12g protein, 3 g sat. fat) and a little less than a 1/2 glass of Wheybolic 60 protein with non fat milk (~173 cals, 66g protein, 2.5g sat. fat). 

Then, I ran 2 miles (slightly under 22 mins) and did light weights (biceps, triceps, and some abdominals).

Needless to say, I feel terriffic because I made the decision to get up, get going, and get well/healthy! I suggest everyone start their day with a little exercise. Nothings better than getting those endorphins flowing!

*Side Note: I find keeping track of what I eat and what time I eat helps! This way I know what I need to slack off on or what I need to pick up on. It’s also a good to jot down how you’re feeling that day, how you felt before and after your work outs, and maybe something positive! I find this helps me when I go back and look at previous entries or when I’m just feeling lazy!
